Last year Princess Catharina-Amalia of the Netherlands wore Papo d’Anjo to take her younger sister Alexia to her first day of kindergarten. While many American children start school wearing summer clothes, it’s never too early to get your childrens’ school options in place.
I like to build back-to-school wardrobes around a versatile item that coordinates with comfortable dresses, skirts and tops. For girls, that means a Cashmere Cabled Cardigan. I like brown because it looks beautiful against any skin tone and goes well with so many options from the current collection. From there I would add:
- A Button Front Dress in green flannel.
- A Liberty Jersey Wrap-Front Dress in orange.
- A Corduroy Tiered Skirt in hot pink Liberty corduroy.
- Double Ric Rac Collar Blouse in white with hot pink ric rac.
- A Ribbed Turtleneck in hot pink.
- Two Long Sleeved Polos in red and white stripe and green and beige stripe.
- A Turtleneck in off white.
- A Duffle Coat in camel.
- A pair of Denim Jeans.
- Leather Tassled Mocassins in brown.
- Ribbed Tights in brown.
- Girls’s Panties and Girl’s Camisoles.
This is just one color combination of many. The trick is to choose items that will go with each other so that your daughter can choose her own clothing every morning and you’ll know it will match. Next week I’ll put together a wardrobe for boys.
Happy shopping!
Thank you so much for answering my question from the blog-this is exactly the information that I wished you would relay to us-and I cannot wait for the boys as well. Sincerely, Mrs. Gacek
