Style File: Ikat Fabrics

I am always on the lookout for fabric traditions from around the world to incorporate into my designs for Papo d’Anjo.

This season, I created a fabric based on the traditional Ikat prints from central Asia. A weaving method where the threads are dyed before they are woven, Ikat is a bit like tie-dying. The patterns are symmetrical, but lively.  Perfect, in my opinion, for girls.

This special fabric is available in a Sleeveless Party Dress (shown above), Girl’s Safari Shorts, and a new perfectly sized Purse.

Ikat is also currently popular for home design. I love the selection that Etsy offers.
