One of the spectacular views from our Lisbon headquarters.

I founded Papo d’Anjo in 1994, when I was a young mother living with my Portuguese husband and children in Lisbon. Ever since, my customers have shown a great interest in not only the clothes I design, but also the locations and lifestyle showcased in Papo d’Anjo’s catalogs and website. This blog is my attempt to share my love of my adopted country and everything else that shapes Papo d’Anjo’s sensibility.

I am a big fan of your clothing line, and I love all of your blogs and comments on everything. I travel between three homes….and in England this time I went to Liberty in London. If you haven’t checked up lately-they had you squished in a corner and there was no display at all. Thought I should say-I only say positive comments-so debated whether you should know. Also we loveed your bunnies and bears-we purchased two bunnies and two bears. Are there going to be anymore animals that are different to purchase-we also loved the bath mitts for gifts…..we absolutely love all the special items, your color choices and you ABSOLUTE EXCELLENT service team. They are always wonderful. You are right-I do feel awkward about going to a trunk show-but will attend one sometime-as I live in Laguna Beach and San Francisco and you’ve sent the invitations. tThanks for all of the specials and perks-as I like to order montly and always have my eye open for specials so that I can get an extra item. Anyway-thank you for being the right fit for us-we had been with another company for years and needed a change. This Christmas we hope to go to Harrods and see your shop there….I’ve been begging my husband-but with a home and family in England it’s hard-but I will make it this Christmas!

    Thanks for everything,

    Mrs. Gacek

Thanks so much for your kind note. Liberty is just now starting to venture into children’s clothing and we are delighted to be a part of their efforts. If you want a more extensive shopping experience in London, please visit our store-within-a-store at Harrods. It’s gorgeous and really does justice to the Papo brand.

I re-read my e-mail, and it sounded confusing. Simply stated-Since they sell-can we please have more size 14 years pants-boys and girls available online. Thank you-We use 12 year for skirts, dresses, tops etc.. but like the added length and fit of jeans in 14. Sincerely, Mrs. gacek

    thanks, Victoria

Our kids, my wife and I all love your clothes. The U.S. market (especially since the demise of best), needs traditional, classic children’s clothes. Nice job, well done. We’re big fans.

p.s. I think we attended Georgetown at the same time?

    Dear Catherine,

I absolutely love Papo d’Anjo! As a mother of four boys though, I don’t get to buy anything on your line as my kids are all too old now. But I do love buying special presents for little girls in my life. I am sure you have had this question before but… do you ever make clothes for women that match the little girls’ line? Thanks!

    Hi Catherine,

I just attended your March 2010 trunk show in New York. I was delighted to see your magnificent line. Your service team was fantastic. They were all so kind, gracious and helpful and placed, absolutely, no pressure to purchase. A special thanks to Christina who helped me coordinate beautiful outfits for my two sons and daughter.
Keep up the traditional, classic designs!

We are always happy with your clothes-though with our third residence now-we are always on travels and miss your trunk show….When ordering a wardrobe for Fall 2010-What would you view as a complete starter set-ie one dress , one jumper, two skirts, etc…I have always been curios as to how many pieces makes a new season work-For fall i would lOVE to know-as many of your customers might as well,

    Happy Easter

While I am waiting for a reply on the above-(How many pieces should you order for a new season wardrobe) I would like to request that the hooded boys jacket 95BJ is offered up tp size childrens 10-it is the right weight and color for boy or girl in America-if possible. You did the double collar blouse larger, which was great-the jacket in 10 would be nice if possible-thanks-Mrs. Gacek

I just wanted to say that I bought my daughter a Papo d’Ango blouse second hand from a bric a brac shop whilst on holiday this Easter in Battle, East Sussex, England (I live in Edinburgh, Scotland) – I liked the colours – greens and taupes and darker greens in what to me looked like an old fashioned print. I had absolutely no idea that it could be a Liberty print and I only paid £2.50 for the blouse!! It is really beautiful and I had no idea that I would find a website for this blouse and let alone such beautiful individual clothes. I like to look for “different” clothes – not just the “run of the mill” stuff and will certainly be on the lookout for more discoveries!!

    Dear Papo d Anjo,

Just a note to let you know how wonderful your spring/summer clothes have been——as they are almost gone on the web. The sale has been fun as we buy one on sale and one regular price—-and it is a good way to try new pieces.

We have been wanting to purchase the ribbed button-down cardigan-and we finally did. It would be great to have more of these extra cardigans to wear for all seasons. We live in two cold climates and one warm-so this is an extra layering piece that works well.

We also loved the cotton sweaters. We bought another after the first and will wear them even in winter-so thank you for all of your gorgeous and useful items.

We love to hear the doorman say-“You have a package from Papo d’ Anjo”

Thank you-Mrs. Gacek P.S. Also there were other items we loved as well-but just wanted to note these two-thank you

    Dear Catherine,

Thank you for your advice on hotels in Lisbon. We just booked our entire stay at the Four Season Ritz Hotel-it won on everything my husband and I wanted-but without your advice and my insistence-we would have stayed at another someone else had recommended…so thank you for your prompt help.

Also, your new collection for Fall 2010 is FANTASTIC in every way-and it is almost impossible to decide where to start ordering-and I am sure everyone feels the same-Thank you!

    Dear Catherine,

Your new label and blog was very fun-but now please do tell us more….what will be your new vision beyond the label for Papo d’ Anjo…..I’m sure I am not the only one left curious. Also, thank you for the wonderful packing lists for trips, as we are always traveling.

    Thank you-Regards, Mrs. Gacek

    Dear Catherine,

I just wanted to thank you soooooo much for all of the items that came in size 12 years. We were able to order so many items and received some for gifts. We are still receiving items that are being shipped–but so far our favorites have been the batik sleeveless shift, the frill sleeveless top and the boys zipper jacket. All of the sleeveless can be worn with tops under them as it gets cooler-so thank you again for the huge selection, and gorgeous quality. I hope you have a wonderful summer.
